Lunch

Lunch is included when working at VOUW.

  • Lunch typically lasts 45 minutes around 13:00, though times may vary.

  • Please wash your hands before lunch

  • Let us know if you have dietary requirements/allergies.

  • Every week, a team member is responsible for doing the groceries. Groceries are always done for multiple days, so if you’re shopping, buy in bulk (e.g., purchase 5 loaves of bread and store the extras in the freezer).

  • You can suggest additional items for the shopping list that fit within our lunch guidelines: items should be non-perishable and vegetarian. We’ll provide you with a bank card for purchases. If you want to bring fish or meat, that’s fine, but it should be at your own expense.

  • If something is out of stock, add it to the grocery list by writing it in the Microsoft To Do App.

  • Always take a picture of the receipt and email it using the QR code on the fridge and hand it in after to a management team member.

  • You’re welcome to help yourself to the food we have available, but ask before taking items like fancy chocolates.

  • One or two loaves of bread are stored in the wooden bread case in the kitchen. Extra bread is kept in the freezer.

Kitchen

The kitchen is a shared space, so please take care of it and keep it tidy.

The right oven is fully functional, but the left one is currently out of order. The stove works fine and is ready for use.

Feel free to use the coffee machine whenever you need a boost. If the coffee beans run out, refill them from the cabinet next to the oven.

At the end of the day, the last person to leave is responsible for turning on the dishwasher. Once the washing cycle is complete, please take the initiative to unload the dishwasher, so it’s ready for the next use.

Toilet

Keeping the toilet clean is everyone’s responsibility. Please follow these guidelines to ensure a clean and pleasant space for all:

  • For men, please always sit down when using the toilet. This helps maintain cleanliness and makes it easier for everyone.

  • We clean the toilet ourselves every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on its condition and whether we’re hosting an event. Typically, we clean the toilet before any event to ensure it’s in top shape.

  • Cleaning supplies are stored next to the sink near the toilet area. If you notice the toilet needs attention between scheduled cleanings, please take the initiative to tidy up.

Trash

Trash Disposal

We practice waste separation to support recycling efforts. For general waste and cardboard there are two Press Waste containers outside. The key for these containers is hanging in the cabinet (on the right, above eye level) next to the entrance of the toilets.

Please ensure you use the correct bin for each type of material:

Kitchen Waste: The bin next to the kitchen is strictly for kitchen-related waste, including food and organic materials.
Paper/Cardboard: Use the large dark gray bin next to the kitchen for all paper and cardboard waste.
Metal Waste: In the metal workshop, dispose of metal scraps in the light gray bin designated for metal.
Wood Waste: The small light gray bin or the large dark grey bin in the wood workshop is for wood scraps.
Hard Plastics: A large dark gray bin at the back of the studio is available for hard plastics.
Electronic waste: The light gray bin at the soldering table is for electronic waste..
General Waste: Normal trash bins around the studio are for all other materials, excluding organic waste.
Glassware: We collect glass bottles and deposit bottles (statiegeld) next to the fridge.

Workspace Maintenance

Always keep your workspace clean. Make it a habit to sweep and tidy up after completing any task, ensuring the studio remains a pleasant and safe environment for everyone.
